Elbert was a member of the Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company.

Birth: May 14, 1912 Middletown New Castle County Delaware, USA Death: Oct. 23, 1988 Dover Kent County Delaware, USA He married Margaret Anna Spicer in September 1932. Father of George Elbert, June Marie, Marjorie Ann "Susie", Carole Ann, Thomas Merrill, Elbert Clifford "Butch", Jr. and Stephen Golder.

Dedicated member of the Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company, Cheswold, Delaware where is served as President for 19 years, the longest in fire company history. Elected and served as the 46th President of the "Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association" (DVFA) in 1971. That same year his wife served as the 34th President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association. Burial: Forest Presbyterian Church Cemetery Middletown New Castle County Delaware, USA
