Mrs. Bush was very active with the Christiana Fire Co. and the Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a lifetime member holding the positions of president and past president. She also served as the President of the New Castle County Ladies Auxiliary.

She was elected as the 42nd Statewide President of the "Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association" where whe served from 1978-1979.
