In 1965, she joined the Ladies Auxiliary of the Millsboro Fire Company. She served as their president and the Sussex County President.

She was elected and served as the 29th President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association (LADVFA) from 1965-1966.
